I remember reading once that a Member of Parliament once referred to the Right Honourable gentlemen (and I use that phrase very loosely!) as not having the brains of a donkey.
The insulted MP stood up to address the Speaker to say that this was a slanderous lie. Before the Speaker had a chance to respond, the original Member stood back up and said:
"I retract my statement. He does have the brains of a donkey!"
