The excitement is all too much!

Some of you will know that Lila, feeling a little peckish yesterday, ate our remote control. Including the batteries.

This, of course, meant an emergency trip to the vets. I hadn't been in two and a half week, so we were probably due again anyway.

Lila was poked, prodded, x-rayed and generally tormented until it was confirmed that there were no batteries hiding out in her stomach. We still haven't found them, but at least Lila will not be the EverReady Dog.

Of course, chewed up bits of plastic don't make a dog feel that bright, and so Lila has been a whirlwind of vomiting . Naturally, her favoured spot is on the sofa, which has never been cleaned so many times in the last 24 hours.

My mother is in hospital at the moment.

When I was 11, she had a hysterectomy, but the scar has given her nothing but trouble for the last 16 years (fuck, am I that old now?). A few years ago she had surgery to deal with the on-going infection in the scar, and managed to score liposuction at the same time (on the bottom of her stomach).

The new scar was a work of art, but the infection decided to spread to her belly button. She went in to have a new belly button fashioned to rid the infection of its cosy home, and managed to sweet talk the surgeon into performing liposuction again, this time on her upper stomach.

My wrap arrived today to complete my wedding dress. I have the shoes, the dress, the wrap, the underwear and the tiara. I can't wait to try the whole lot on together!

And today, a would be suicide bomber was shot dead on the tube. The police allege that this bomber was directly linked to the failed attempts yesterday. He was being chased by the police (and plain clothed at that), fell, and they all piled on him. Then they shot him five times.
I am absolutely disgusted that they shot him five times. There was just no need for that. He was on the ground, underneath a pile of police officers and surely they could have restrained him without resorting to lethal force.

And five fucking times? At point blank range? I cannot accept that THAT was necessary.

If the police are going to react with that level of unneccessary violence, this situation is only going to escalate into a lethal game of tit for tat. And it won't be the police that take the brunt of such a game.

Next week's travel should be fun.

Looking forward to seeing you in your wedding attire!

I am glad that Lila is ok. Wish I could say the same about your couch.

And that asshole who was shot dead - yes 5 times does seem excessive. Did he have explosives on him?

That hasn't been reported as yet. I suspect not, although witnesses say he was wearing a puffa jacket which was done up, and they thought that was odd given the warm and humid weather.

I say bollocks. It was cold this morning!

I don't think we will ever get the full story on this one, because there is no way shooting someone five times at point blank range is ever going to be justifiable.

Well well well.

The man shot dead yesterday had bugger all to do with the attempted attacks on Thursday. Quelle surprise.

The Met describe it as a regrettable tragedy.

If I were a young male of Asian appearance, I'm not really sure I would stop for a bunch of men chasing me with guns either. Under the new quidance the police do not have to identify themselves as such.

That scares me a hell of a lot more than any terrorists.

Yeah, I heard the guy didn't have any explosives....it's VERY sad.

Hooray for your mom getting lipo on the sly. I wish I could be so crafty.

And yea for your outfit being complete. Boo for puking puppies.

It is shocking that a completely innocent person was shot dead! Shocking yet is that Blair defended the police's action to use deadly force on "suspected" terrorists! So anyone wearing a puffy coat who causes a panic can be shot? Outrageous!

Exactly.

It's cold and raining today. I suspect of London will be wearing coats that ARE DONE UP!

Oh the horror.

What is this world coming to? Before you know it, we'll be burning people at the stake again.
I hate terrorists, in all shapes and forms. Whether they are middle-eastern, jamaican, viet namese, tamils, policemen,KKK, or whatever fanaticism it seems to be.
Where are all the normal people? (Blogging!?)
Anyway.
Wedding stuff.
I also want to wear a tiara vs. a veil!
And, I'd like a shawl or something like that (In case I can't find a dress!)
Glad to hear that you are getting all your plans together in spite of your dog eating your remote. Silly Lila!

Ooops! I just realized that my post might have sounded a tad racist. It's not meant to be. Here, in Toronto, we have a lot of problems lately with gangs. I see that as a form of terrorism too.
