I forgot to blog this week. I have been a busy bunny!
Lila has been spayed and has also had her hernia repaired. I likes a sleepy Rottweiler, but sadly it just doesn't last for long.
Lila is now pretty much house trained. I am so pleased!
Lila bit my face on Monday when she came round from the anaesthetic. The bruises have nearly faded now, but I did look quite rough for a while.
The garden has gone into overdrive. I have peas and courgettes coming out of my ears, and the potatoes are reaching for the skies. My cucumber plant is over 11 feet tall, and has 20 great size cucumbers almost ready to pick. The tomatoes are flowering, the brocolli have reached the size of small planets, the strawberries are making their appearance, and the carrots and onions are nearly ready. The early summer garlic is just perfect!
I have lost 5 pounds this week on my diet and I feel really good. I've given up diet coke (I didn't plan to but I have felt no desire to drink it) and I have managed to get in 5 portions of fruit and veg every day. I've cut back on carbs and switched to multigrain wholemeal bread. I don't like it as much, but I am getting used to it, and it really is ok. I start my exercise program next week - I wanted to get a good start on my diet first and get an idea of the amounts I needed to eat to function and not feel wobbly before I began to work out.
The honeymoon is booked in the Maldives. By law I won't be able to go topless, but I WILL be wearing a bikini. And I will not look too wobbly in it!
It is the hottest weekend of the year so far. We are expecting wall to wall sunshine and temperatures of around 29C and so we have a weekend of BBQ and wine drinking planned. With huge bowls of warm English strawberries and thick fresh double cream. Who still believes that it is always cold and damp in England?
